2017 All-State CPA Awards Official Rules

This Awards program is open to all individuals with a current license in the 50 U.S. States. Up to one (1) winner will be announced from any state for which a nominee meeting eligibility criteria is identified. Surgent reserves the right not to award an All-State CPA Award in a given state if a nominee that meets the eligibility criteria cannot be identified.

Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible for an All-State CPA award a nominee must:

  • Be a current licensed practicing CPA in the state of nomination, with license in good standing;
  • Demonstrate adherence to the highest professional standards for:
    • Knowledge;
    • Forward-thinking;
    • Innovation and problem solving;
    • Trust and integrity;
    • Professional reputation in the client and peer community.
  • The nomination form should reference facts or examples supporting the nominee’s possession of one or more of the above traits (please note as many as possible). Both the contents of the nomination form(s) and the number of nominations for any given nominee will be taken into consideration in determining an Award recipient.  Nominations will be reviewed by a judging committee comprised of Surgent staff and advisors. Eligibility determinations and award recipients will be at the sole discretion of Surgent.
  • Employees of Surgent and its related entities are not eligible to participate in this Awards Program as nominees or recipients.

Prizes:  Each winner of an All-State CPA Award will receive one (1) Surgent 2017 Unlimited Webinar Package valued at $649.00. This prize is not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other Surgent product.

Nomination Process:  All nominations must be submitted using the form on this webpage. No purchase is necessary to enter and purchase (whether current or prior) does not enhance or otherwise affect a nominee’s odds of receiving an Award

Individuals may nominate themselves or a peer, however nominations may only be submitted by actively licensed CPAs.

All Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. P.D.T. on August 31, 2017.

Judging Process:  Nominations will be reviewed by a judging committee comprised of Surgent staff and advisors. Both the contents of the nomination form(s) and the number of nominations for any given nominee will be taken into consideration in determining an Award recipient. Nominations submitted by non-CPAs will not be taken into consideration. Eligibility determinations and award recipients will be at the sole discretion of Surgent.  Award recipients will be notified by July 31, 2017.  All decisions of the judges are final.

Miscellaneous:

  • The odds of winning a All-State CPA Award in your state will depend on the strength and number of nominations for an individual candidate as well as the overall number of nominations submitted in your state.
  • If you are selected as a winner of a All-State CPA award you will be required to grant Surgent the right to use your name and likeness in Surgent promotional materials referencing the Awards. The completion of forms granting such rights is a pre-condition of any Award which may be offered.
  • If for any reason the All-State CPA Awards Program is not capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to computer virus or malfunction, bugs, tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause, Surgent reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the All-State CPA Awards program without liability of any kind to participants, nominees or Award recipients.
  • Surgent assumes no responsibility for errors in transmission, interruptions in service or other technical issues or delays which could disrupt transmission or receipt of a nomination.
  • Any tax obligations which may arise as a result of receipt of a prize are the sole responsibility of the prize recipient.
  • Disputes related to this Awards program shall be adjudicated pursuant to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
